The Race Against Cancer is a walk and run*.  Your participation and support make a difference in the lives of the patients and families of Thompson Cancer Survival Center.

Since its inception 26 years ago, the race has raised more than $7.4 million for the patients and families impacted by cancer in our local area. The funds raised by you and your team through the 2020 Race Against Cancer support the patients and families of Thompson Cancer Survival Center of the medically-underserved right here in East Tennessee. The coverage area includes the following 19 counties: Knox, Blount, Anderson, Union, Grainger, Jefferson, Hamblen, Scott, Campbell, Claiborne, Hancock, Morgan, Cumberland, Roane, Loudon, McMinn, Monroe, Sevier, Cocke. Thanks to the donors, teams and individual participant fundraising efforts we are able to continue these potentially life-saving services and win the race towards survival! Most importantly proceeds raised by the race go to fight cancer within our local community.

Our world is a different place now. All of us are working to safely adapt and thrive amid the constraints and guidelines necessary to slow the spread of the coronavirus. We hope that you are staying safe and healthy.

Even as COVID-19 has challenged us all to find new ways of working and living, the other health care needs of our community have not stopped. Some of our friends and neighbors are still battling cancer, strokes, and other devastating illnesses. Babies are still being born. People are still learning to walk and talk again after traumatic brain injuries. And we are committed to helping them recover with your support.

Within the confines of current CDC and health department guidelines, we are so looking forward to inviting you to join us in making a difference in the health of our communities. We have had to cancel and/or postpone several events this spring and summer, and fund raising revenue for our hospitals and health care services has suffered. Now, we are excited to be planning for both outdoor and indoor fundraising events to begin. Our outdoor golf tournaments and 5k runs are moving forward, as are fall indoor events such as the Morristown-Hamblen gala and Peninsula’s Artsclamation! fine art sale. All are being structured with a strong overlay of safety and flexibility.

We need the support of our volunteers, sponsors and communities to be successful and we pledge to offer you a safe way to partner with us.
