    Questions About Volunteering

Contact Nicole Taylor, Special Events Manager at Office: 865-531-5205 or email RaceAgainstCancer@covhlth.com with subject heading “Volunteer Information”.

    Why should you volunteer?

People choose to volunteer for a variety of reasons. For some it offers the chance to give something back to the community or make a difference to the people around them. For others it provides an opportunity to develop new skills or build on existing experience and knowledge. It's also a great way to earn service hours for students. Regardless of the motivation, what unites them all is that they find it both challenging and rewarding.

    Volunteer Registration

  • Online registration has been deactivated for 2020 as we are hosting a virtual race.

    What is a Team Captain?

  • Team captains motivate and encourage others to join in your team. It's a great way to rally your co-workers, friends and family to help in the fight against cancer. The journey begins once you register and culminates during our race day walk and celebration. On race day your hard working team will be rewarded by seeing the survivors impacted by the funds raised by the race. Plus teams will be recognized in several different categories: Largest Team, Top Fundraising Team and Fastest 5K Team.

  • If you’ve never been a team captain before or if this is something you do every year, our teams have a tremendous impact on helping us reach our fundraising goals. Without them our race would not be nearly as successful.
  • The team captain guide will help you along your journey. Inside you’ll find tips and information to build a team, set and reach fundraising goals, all while have a great race experience. So that on race day you can be proud of the work you put in and celebrate with our survivors, friends and family.
